red because today found us apple picking with our best friends. The weather was blissful and warm... not really the typical fall conditions we're used to, but perfect for jeans and a tee shirt.
It's an annual thing for us and 32 pounds later, I see many apple related treats in our future. I'm also thinking I'll bring in some for my students who need a pick me up.

Katie, I just started reading this blog (http://eatathomecooks.com/) and she recently has been posting and asking for apple recipes. You should check it out.
I actually left one of my favorites in the comment section. It's one of my favorite quick and easy apple recipes.
I used to make cinnamon apples with my class every week. I would bring in my crockpot, then use my apple peeler/corer/slicer to prepare the apples for chopping. Then I dumped it all (at least one apple per child) into the pot, sprinkled a bit of sugar and LOTS of cinnamon, then let it cook all day. The last half hour of the day, we would enjoy our treat. Actually, we enjoyed the delicious aroma ALL day!
I just reread my comment, and realized how goofy, and redundant, that second paragraph is! Sheesh! Of course, the teacher in me couldn't NOT mention it. :(
Thanks, I'll check the blog out.
Also wanted to tell you, I love the cinnamon apple idea! What an awesome and easy project my students would LOVE!
