Trimester 1 Almost Done

It's mid November and the trimester is coming to an end, so there is flurry of activity in my classroom.  I've got one question left on a weather and health assessment (appropriately called Germ Busters!) and then, it's on to time periods  in social studies. It's busy and bustling, but I like watching my students  show me what they've learned...and in some cases, not learned. (That informs my teaching just as much.) I'm a data girl, so these are exciting times.

It's good to hear from someone who likes these assessments. Too often I hear from teachers who find them to hinder their teaching.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but in my district, we got to pick the assessments years ago, tweak them along the way, and create some nice units that really compliment the material. It guides my teaching, and informs my instruction...The combo works for me.
